Why Essential Oils

Shaun-Proulx-Young-Living-Essential-Oils

If you ever told me I’d be as addicted to essential oils as I am today, well, I would have believed you because I’ve always been into finding ways to make life better.

I use Young Living Essential Oils, which, after years of buying and trying lots of brands, is the easily best producer of therapeutic grade essential oils I’ve ever experienced. I endorse and recommend them to everyone. (If you are interested in trying them, keep reading to find out how to save 24% off of retail pricing, which I share at the bottom of this page.)

I use my favourite essential oils every day, to a degree and in ways I wouldn’t have imagined (once I thought essential oils were just for massage and baths). I have no less than a dozen different kinds in my office as I write this, *there is a link to my favourites at the bottom of this page).

  • I diffuse them whenever I’m home or in my office (everyone who walks in when I’m diffusing “Thieves” comments on how great my space smells. Everyone.)
  • I enhance or make teas (adding lemon to my green tea, or mixing lemon, thieves with honey, or using peppermint oil instead of weaker bags.) If you use a lot of lemons or limes, it is actually less expensive, convenient and healthier to use lemon oil or lime oil instead.
  • I cook with oils (sub in grapefruit oil, lemon oil where you would normally use fruit, lavender is amazing with so many things, including coffee.) You can also cook and clean with them, too, including laundry.
  • I use them in my bath (“Peace & Calming”, lavender, to relax; peppermint is a great wake-up.)
  • Picture if you will, me with a bottle of “Stress Away” under my nose when I’m on a business call with someone particularly irritating. Because it helps!
  • Frankincense has done wonders for my skin; peppermint or grapefruit rubbed on my stomach really helps me to de-stress and digest.
  • I’ll grab any of my oils and take a whiff any time I need a pick-me-up, or mix whatever strikes my mood with a carrier oil like coconut to moisturize or massage. I massage ‘Joy’ into my heart area before bed, and use ‘R.C’ regularly on my throat because my job requires me to talk all the time and that area’s my weak spot.
